CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle bodywork technique of finding and correcting deep tension, restrictions and imbalances in the craniosacral system that extends from the head (cranium) to the lower back and tailbone (sacral area), along the spine.

During a session the practitioner works their hands down the spinal column relieving tension at the core of the body which then softens and relaxes the whole body. Several techniques are used and have shown to reduce & relieve migraines, TMJneck & back painsciatica, chronic pain or tension anywhere in the body, and many other conditions.

  • CranioSacral Therapy may assist in relief from headaches, neck & back pain, sciatica, chronic pain or tension anywhere in the body, TMJ and many other conditions.

There may be emotional releases, as well, done in a safe environment.

Using a technique called “unwinding the meridians” (acupuncture / energy pathways of traditional Chinese medicine), the practitioner can assist the body in releasing stagnant energy that relates to the organs and processes of the body. This is similar to Acupuncture, without the needles!

  • For all ages and pets. Our practitioners at The Remedy House offer sessions for all ages.

  • CranioSacral Therapy is a deeply relaxing and gentle hands-on therapy. This therapy is provided on a massage table with the client fully clothed.

The CranioSacral rhythm is assessed first. Then various, gentle hands-on techniques, using no more pressure than the weight of a nickel, are used to help correct the imbalances found where tensions and restrictions are located along the tailbone, spinal column, neck, and skull.

Raindrop Therapy

with Jodi Jenks ND, Mallory Feyen ND, Anna Parker, or Jamie VanDam

60 minutes | $115

Raindrop Therapy is an essential oil body work developed by Young Living Essential Oils to promote structural and electrical re-alignment of the body.  The essential oils used in Raindrop therapy are powerful tools that are detoxifying as well as therapeutic.  The massage technique used to apply the oils is specialized and unique for it is centralized around the spine to promote the structural and electrical re-alignment the therapy was designed for.

The essential oils included in Raindrop therapy are two blends, Valor and Aroma Seiz, and seven single oils including Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Peppermint, Wintergreen, and Marjoram.

  • This bodywork technique is incredibly detoxifying providing deep relief throughout the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system.

  • For adults and kids 16+

  • The client will lie on a massage table, undressed enough to apply oils to the legs from the knee down to the ankles, and to the whole length of the spinal column. Oils are applied using the Raindrop technique along with basic bodywork techniques to aid in relaxing the body to enable the oils to work optimally within the body.

  • Note that basil and peppermint should be avoided during pregnancy. So if pregnant, those oils may be swapped out for safer oils during pregnancy.

It is the client’s responsibility to let the practitioner know if pregnant.

Lymphatic Drainage

with Jodi Jenks ND, Mallory Feyen ND, or Donna Balczak

60 minutes | $115

Lymphatic Drainage is a form of bodywork that utilizes massage-like techniques to simulate the lymph and body fluids throughout the whole body. This hands-on procedure will help your body eliminate toxins, improve circulation, and stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system which restores and relaxes your body.

Working closely with the circulatory system, the lymphatic system helps with the exchange of nutrients needed by the cells as well as the removal of wastes and toxins from the cells. The lymphatic system is composed of lymph fluid, lymph nodes, and several immune system glands.

  • ✦ It simulates exercise and is very beneficial for those with a more sedentary lifestyle

✦ Promotes the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in reduced stress and relaxation

✦ May help prevent sickness and infection

✦ Decreases chronic inflammation (which is often stuck lymph)

✦ Alleviates swelling (edema) in the body

✦ Helps to increase the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins

✦ Increases the transportation of hormones throughout the body

✦ Removes wastes and toxins from the body

    ✦ Beneficial for breast health

✦ Helpful for the recovery of sports injuries and scars

  • For adults and kids 16+

For those that suffer from lymphedema, fibromyalgia, hormone imbalances, poor circulation, and some who chronically become ill.

  • The client will undress to a comfortable level and will lie on a massage table. The practitioner will use massage-like techniques with a combination of medium and light pressure that focus on movement toward the heart area where our lymphatic drains are located. This technique incorporates work on the neck, shoulders, back, abdomen, arms, and legs.

  • Mallory Feyen ND uses a gentle touch to access the fascia layer as well as the lymphatic system.

Jodi Jenks ND uses a heavier touch to stimulate deep stagnation within the lymphatic system.

  • Note that some of the lymphatic drainage techniques involve abdominal massage and should be avoided depending on stage of pregnancy.

In addition pregnant women should avoid heavy detoxing. Consult with your doctor or our naturopathic doctors to find out if this session is right for you.

Reflexology

with Jodi Jenks ND, Mallory Feyen ND, Donna Balczak or Makayla Jenks

30 minutes | $65

60 minutes | $115

Reflexology uses massage techniques on the feet and the hands to stimulate nervous system for relaxation. The science of Reflexology deals with energy pathways stemming from the 7,200 nerve pathways in the feet and hands that correlate to all of the glands, organs and other parts of the body.  This bodywork technique uses a unique method of using the thumb and fingers to reflex these areas to improve circulation, lymph flow, and revitalizing your energy.

  • Working specific reflex points on the feet improves circulation and lymph flow. Cleansing the body of impurities and revitalizes energy, which will encourage the body to naturally restore its own healthy balance. Additionally, Reflexology can bring soothing stress relief and relaxation to the mind, body and spirit. The treatment can be pleasurable and extremely relaxing to receive, as well as invigorating and energizing.

  • Reflexology is a holistic therapy suitable for all ages, and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:

    ✦ Hormonal imbalances
    ✦ Menopause
    ✦ Back pain
    ✦Migraines, headaches
    ✦Sleep disorders
    ✦Digestive problems
    ✦Circulatory problems
    ✦Stress related disorders
    ✦Arthritis
    ✦Plantar Fasciitis

  • 30min session - focuses on feet

60min session - includes both feet & hands

The session will begin with a relaxing foot massage, followed by pressure being applied to reflex points on the feet by the practitioner's hands and thumbs to enable a free flow of energy to the body. The client will feel very relaxed and may fall asleep.

  • There are certain points on the feet that should not be stimulated during pregnancy - that might cause early labor.

Reflexology can be done without stimulating these points and it is the client’s responsibility to inform practitioner before the session.

Myofascial Release

with Donna Balczak

Initial Session | 90 minutes | $165

Follow-Up | 90 minutes | $150

Myofascial Release Technique is a method that involves continuous, gentle touch and manipulation of the body’s fascia, or connective tissue. MFR is an excellent modality if you suffer from physical pain or restriction, have tried other pain management methods with little success or are working to release stored trauma or emotions.

One small “kink” in the fascia casing can result in pain and restriction in multiple areas of the body; it’s a ripple effect. The purpose of an MFR session is to release those knots and, therefore, alleviate pain and restriction.

This video does an excellent job of providing a clear picture of MFR work.

  • As described by John F. Barnes, founder of the MFR technique:

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate.

Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc).

  • Fascia is the connective tissue that connects your muscles to your bones.

    Per John Hopkins Medicine:

Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure; fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin. When stressed, it tightens up.

Although fascia looks like one sheet of tissue, it’s actually made up of multiple layers with liquid in between called hyaluronan. It’s designed to stretch as you move. But there are certain things that cause fascia to thicken and become sticky. When it dries up and tightens around muscles, it can limit mobility and cause painful knots to develop.

One small “kink” in the fascia casing can result in pain and restriction in multiple areas of the body; it’s a ripple effect. The purpose of an MFR session is to release those knots and, therefore, alleviate pain and restriction.

  • MFR is for anyone looking for release and a new level of healing. MFR can be very helpful for those hoping to heal any of the following:

    ✦ Decreased mobility/range of motion
✦ Chronic pain - with little of no relief from multiple pain management methods/techniques
✦ Trauma or scar tissue from an injury or surgery
✦ Emotional trauma, such as PTSD or CPTSD, that has resulted in physical symptoms
✦ Women’s health issues (pelvic floor dysfunction, cystitis, incontinence, etc)
    ✦ Migraines
    ✦ TMJ
    ✦ Sleep issues
    ✦ Mood swings

  • Unlike traditional massage therapy or chiropractic work, MFR consists of long, intentional holds. There is no cracking or adjustment of bones and there is no deep muscle massage. Instead, the practitioner uses continuous touch to gently manipulate and release the fascia. While still incredibly relaxing, a MFR session will often focus on one or two targeted areas, instead of massaging the entire body.

In order to effectively release the fascia, sessions are ideally performed directly on skin as this allows the practitioner to accurately detect fascial restrictions. You will undress to a comfortable level and to lay on a table for the duration of the session, part of the time on your back, and part of the time on your stomach.

It is recommended that a 90 minute session be booked for your first appointment.
